How to Limit Cart Quantity to 1 in WooCommerce?

To limit the cart quantity to 1, follow the following steps. 

1.1. Install and Activate the WooCommerce Min-Max Quantities Plugin

Note: You can skip this step if you have already installed and activated the WooCommerce Min-Max Quantities plugin. 

To install the WooCommerce Min-Max Quantities plugin, you will need to install the Woosuite Core plugin and activate it with the help of a license key. We have created a Quick Start Guide for you to figure out how to install and activate the WooCommerce Min-Max Quantities plugin.

1.2. Navigate to Min/Max Quantity Rules Plugin General Settings

In WordPress Admin Dashboard: Navigate to Woosuite » Min/Max Quantity Rules.

1.3. Limit Purchase Quantity to 1 

For this tutorial, I’ll only set the maximum purchase/cart quantity to 1. So that the users will be able to add to cart only 1 quantity in an order. 

Follow the following steps to limit the purchase/cart quantity to 1. 

1. Select Maximum Order Quantity 

Search for the ‘Maximum Order Quantity’ field in the ‘Rules’ section. Enter the maximum order quantity your buyers can purchase of all products present on your WooCommerce store in this field. 

2. Click on the ‘Save Changes’ Button

Click on the ‘Save Changes’ button to save all the current changes.

We have now figured out how to limit the cart/purchase quantity to 1 in WooCommerce. We will now check whether everything is working fine or not. So, let’s check it.

As I specified the maximum cart quantity to 1 so If I add more than one quantity in the cart, I’ll see a message saying ‘The maximum allowed order quantity is 1. Please remove some items from your cart.’

Now if I try to proceed to checkout, I won’t be able to do so. 

Hence, this shows that the settings are working perfectly.
