With the rise of eCommerce, digital buyers are also increasing rapidly with time. Things have become more accessible to buyers. In 2021 there were around 2.14 billion digital buyers around the globe up 3.8% from the previous year.
The total population of the world is around 7.89 billion. It means almost 28-29% of the population shop online. The number of shoppers around the globe is drastically increasing with time.
Looking at the past seven-years data. There were reportedly 1.32 billion digital buyers around the globe in 2014. And in 2015, this number increased to 1.46 billion online buyers globally. The number continued growing as more stores create an online presence to satisfy both buyers’ behavior. We have seen a rise of around 820 million digital buyers worldwide, which is significant.
The United States is the number one country with the highest number of digital buyers. In 2021, there were around 230 million US digital buyers. While in 2016, there were reportedly 209.6 million digital buyers in the US.
After looking at these numbers, we can understand that the number of buyers is growing continuously. Due to the ease of access to resources, online shopping users are also increasing.
