For instance, you plan to offer 15% off on your first purchase worth $100 and above. You can create a first-order discount for specific products and cart total discount

How to Provide First-Order Discount in WooCommerce?

I will create a new rule for my WooCommerce store. In this tutorial, I will offer 15% Off to my first-time buyers on orders above $100.

Follow the given steps to provide a first-order discount in WooCommerce. 

1. Install the Dynamic Pricing and Discounts Plugin

Note: You can skip this step if you have already installed and activated the WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing and Discount plugin.

To install WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing and Discount plugin, you will need to install the Woosuite Core plugin and activate your Woosuite license key. We have created a Quick Start Guide to walk you through the installation process.

2. Navigate to WooCommerce Dynamic Pricing Plugin’s Order Totals Setting

Now, look for the ‘Woosuite’ option in the right sidebar of your WordPress toolbar. Then, click on the ‘Dynamic Pricing Rules’ option. 

In WordPress Admin Dashboard: Woosuite > Dynamic Pricing Rules > Click on it.

Head over to ‘Order Totals’ settings.

3. Create First-Order Discount in WooCommerce

Follow the given steps to create a first-order discount in WooCommerce.

1. Create An Internal Campaign Name

In the ‘Admin Title’ field, enter an internal campaign name for your new first-order discount rule. This is for internal purposes only. 

2. Select ‘Quantities Based On’ to ‘Cart Total’

You will get two options in the dropdown: ‘Cart Total’ and ‘Category Total.’ You have to select ‘Cart Total’ because we want to apply this rule to the total cart order value. 

3. Select ‘Applies to’ Setting to ‘First Time Buyer’

You will get three options: ‘Everyone,’ ‘Specific Roles,’ ‘Guests,’ and ‘First Time Buyer.’ You have to select ‘First Time Buyer’ from the given options.  

4. Schedule Promotional Offer (Optional)

If you want to create this rule for a particular time, select the Start and End dates. You can select the dates by clicking on the Calendar icon.

5. Enter the ‘Minimum Order Total’

In the ‘Minimum Order Total,’ enter the minimum cart total users should have to be eligible for the discount. 

5. Enter the ‘Max’ Order Total’

In the ‘Max Order Total,’ enter the maximum cart total users can have. In this field, you will need to add an asterisk (*) because we want to give buyers a discount even if the cart order total is above $100. 

6. Select the Type of Discount You Want to Offer

You can offer three types of adjustments – ‘Fixed Price Adjustment,’ ‘Price Adjustment,’ and ‘Percentage Adjustment.’ For this rule, you need to choose ‘Percentage Discount.’

7. Enter the Discount

In the ‘Amount’ field, enter the discount you want to give to the ‘First Time Buyers.’ 

8. Click on the ‘Save Changes’ Button

Now, click on the ‘Save Changes’ button to save all the settings and make the rule live. 

Final Results

We made all the settings correctly. Now, we will check whether everything is working fine or not. Here are the final results we got with the help of the Dynamic Pricing and Discounts plugin. 

I’m currently on the Shop Page of my WooCommerce store. I also logged in with a new account. As you can see in the given image, I added products worth $120, which is more than $100. 

I entered my email address on the Checkout page, and it automatically applied the 15% discount. You can see the same in the below-mentioned image.
