How to Add a Password Field in the Registration Form in WooCommerce?

We will go through a step-by-step tutorial to add a password field in the registration form. So, follow all the steps carefully and verify the settings with the images.

1. Navigate to WooCommerce Settings

First, you will need to open the WordPress admin dashboard and navigate to the WooCommerce Settings.

2.  Click on the Accounts & Privacy Tab

Next, go to the “Accounts and Privacy” tab on the setting page.

3. Disable Option that Sends Password Link

Once the “Accounts and Privacy” tab is opened, you should see a checkbox that says “send the new user link to set their password”. It is enabled by default and sends a link to the new user’s email when registering an account on the website.

You have to disable this option, so the password field is displayed on the form, and the new user can set their password during the account creation.

4. Save Changes

After making all the above changes, you have to save changes to apply to the website. Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Save changes button.

5. Verify changes on the Registration Form

After your settings have been saved, visit the account registration page on your website to verify the changes. The below image confirms we have successfully added the password field to our registration form. This allows the users to enter passwords when creating a new account on the website.

The default WooCommerce registration form shows email and password fields only. Sometimes, you may need to add custom fields like the first name, last name, address, phone, country, etc., to get the user’s details. You can easily create a custom registration form using the User Registration plugin. It offers a simple way to add different WooCommerce registration form fields. It also allows the new user to select the user roles from the website, such as customer, wholesaler, distributor, etc. It provides the functionality of managing new user approval on your website.
