For variable products, WooCommerce allows us to add an image for each variation. In the product gallery, you can add multiple images of the product variation. But unfortunately, it doesn’t allow us to add a video to the product gallery. And, this feature is restricting WooCommerce store owners from increasing their sales and conversion. 

Now, you might have also spent hours and days finding a way to add video in the variation product gallery. Not anymore.

There are several benefits of adding a product video to the product gallery. Here I’m mentioning a few of them.

2. Video can help users finalize the product quickly. It will clear their doubts and help them to make the final decision.
3. Showcasing your product in each angle with the help of video can help you build customers’ trust. 
4. Video can improve your eCommerce store’s rankings on Google. Google loves showing videos in the SERP to engage the users. 
5. Click-Through Rate (CTR) is the most helpful factor for an eCommerce store. Adding a video can increase the CTR of your online store. 
6. People love watching videos. According to the report, users share videos more as compared to photos.

How Can You Add Video to WooCommerce Product Gallery?

In this guide, I’ll be using the Additional Variation Images Plugin. I will be using this plugin to perform the mentioned steps. 

Additional Variation Images Plugin by Woosuite will enable us to add a video to our product gallery. It lets us add videos from Youtube and Vimeo. You can even add self-hosted videos by adding them to WordPress media. You can purchase the plugin from the Woosuite official website.

How to Add A Video to WooCommerce Product Gallery?

I would advise you to follow the given steps carefully to achieve the desired results. Throughout the whole guide, I’ll use the Additional Variation Images Plugin. So, follow the given steps. 

Step 1. Install the WooSuite Core Plugin

To add the product video, we will need to install and activate the Woosuite Core plugin. To install the Woosuite Core plugin, follow the below-given steps. Before that, make sure you have downloaded the Woosuite Core plugin’s zip file to your computer or smartphone storage. 

Now, go to the Plugin section in your WordPress dashboard. Click on Add New button and then tap on Upload Plugin. It will open a new window which will show all your computer files. From that, choose the Woosuite Core plugin zip file. 

Select it and click on Upload. After that, click on the Install Now button. It will start installing the plugin and notify you when it is done. Here is the summed-up process.

Plugins > Add New > Upload Plugin > Choose File > Install Now

Now, we will activate the Woosuite Core plugin. Head over to the Plugin section and look for the Woosuite Core plugin. After finding it, click on the Activate button. After activating the plugin, you will see a new tab in the WordPress toolbar called Woosuite. 

Step 2. Activate The Woosuite Core License Key to Get Started

To install the Additional Variation Images plugin, follow the given steps. 

Click on Woosuite in the left sidebar of the WordPress tool menu. Under the Woosuite menu, click on the Activate option. Paste your Woosuite License key in the given text area. You will receive your Woosuite License key through email. Or, you can access it from your Woosuite account.

Now, move to the Addons section in the Woosuite menu. From there, look for Additional Variation Images, and click on Install. After that, toggle on the Additional Variation Images Plugin.

After that, you will see a new option in the Woosuite submenu called Variation Images. 

Step 4. Create Attributes

In this step, you will need to create Attributes. Fortunately, WooCommerce allows us to create Attributes easily. Go to the Product section, and look for the Attributes button. You can add multiple Attribute types such as image attributes, color attributes, and size attributes. You can create according to your product type.

For this tutorial, I created a Wall Art and Painting product. So, I’ll be adding color attributes, size attributes, and frame attributes similar to image attributes.

Step 3. Create A Variable Product

I’ll start by creating a new product. Yet, you can follow the same steps with the existing product. The steps are the same for both new and existing products.  

We will now create or edit a product. Also, the process would be the same as we usually do with our new product, such as giving product name, description, setting price, shipping methods, product images, etc. So, create a new product and jump to the next step.

Note: You have to create a variable product in this case. 

Step 5. Create Product Variations

We have now created the Attributes; we’ll now add Variations. We can add variations by clicking on the Variations tab in the Product settings. 

Click on the Attributes tab. In the Attributes tab, select the Attributes from the dropdown list and click on Add. Now, click on each attribute and choose Select All. I have added color, frame, and size attributes.

To use them as Variations, you have to select the Used For Variations checkbox for all Attributes. 

After that, click on Save Attributes to save the changes. Now, go to the Variations tab and select Create Variations From All Attributes from the dropdown. It will now automatically fetch all the attributes and add them to the variations. 

After making changes, click on Save Draft or Publish the product. 

Step 6. Add The Product Video

In this step, we will learn how to add a video to the variation product gallery. So, scroll down and look for the Product settings. In the Product Settings, look for the Variation setting.

In the Variation section, click on Variation in which you want to add the product video. 

After that, click on the variation type, you will see some new options. Now, assign the price to the variation. After that, click on Add Gallery Image. 

Now, select the images you want to show for that particular variation. To add the video, you will see the space to add a Video URL on the right sidebar. Now, paste the video link in the text box you want to show in the product gallery.

Final Results

Now, we have finally added the video to the product gallery. As you can see in the given image, the video is visible in the product gallery. Their users will get the option to pause and rewind the video. 

When users click on that variation, they will see the images and video you have added for that particular variation.

They can also watch the same video on Youtube by clicking on the title. It will redirect them to Youtube.
