You can change the WooCommerce checkout button text to any text you want to get the customer's attention and reduce the cart abandonment rate.
For example, You can replace the 'Place Order' text on the WooCommerce checkout page with something that excites the users to complete the checkout. It can be like 'Get the Products' or something that matches your store or interest.
You can change the WooCommerce checkout button text using the custom code, which may confuse you.
So In today's article, I'll walk you through the step-by-step process to change the WooCommerce checkout button text without using any custom code. I'll be using the AIO Checkout plugin to get the final results.
It is one of the best all-in-one checkout optimization plugins that allows you to make advanced customizations to the checkout and create custom checkouts and more.
Here's a quick sneak peek of the final results.
So without any further ado, let's jump into the tutorial.
Change the WooCommerce Checkout Button Text
As mentioned above, I won't be using any custom code. Instead, I'll work with the AIO Checkout plugin to change the WooCommerce checkout button text.
Please follow the following steps to change the WooCommerce checkout button text.
1. Install and Activate the AIO Checkout Plugin
First, download the AIO Checkout plugin from the Woosuite store. It is free for now, and you can get it by submitting the form.
Once you have downloaded it, navigate to the Plugins » Add New from your WordPress admin dashboard, and click the Upload button to upload the downloaded file to install and activate the plugin.
2. Navigate to the AIO Checkout
Once you have installed and activated the plugin, navigate to AIO Checkout from your WordPress dashboard.
3. Create a New Checkout Form
Click the "Create New Checkout" button to create a new checkout form. Once you click the button, a new checkout form is created.
It'll be the default WooCommerce checkout form, but you can completely customize it and improve the customer experience.
I won't be going into the details of editing the checkout page for this tutorial, but I have compiled a few guides to help you customize the checkout page.
- How to Edit the WooCommerce Checkout Page
- How to Remove Email Field From WooCommerce Checkout?
- How To Create a WooCommerce Checkout like Shopify?
- How to Combine WooCommerce Cart and Checkout Page?
4. Select the Design of the Checkout Form
Once you have created the checkout in WooCommerce, click the "Design" tab to select the column layout. You can choose the layout as
- Single Column
- Two Columns
Each layout has some unique templates that you can use. It is still under development, many more templates will be added with time.
For this tutorial, I am selecting the "Single Column" layout. Once you choose it, you'll see new templates. Select the 'Modern Shop Template.'
5. Enable the Checkout in WooCommerce
Once you have selected the design of the checkout form, click the "Settings" tab and enable the form by toggling the "Enable" button.
1. Give a Name to the Form
Now, In the "Name" field, give a name to the form. The form's name will be helpful if you have created different forms for different user roles.
You can apply this form to specific user roles from the "Applies to" dropdown. For this tutorial, I am keeping it to "Everyone," but it depends on your needs.
6. Change the WooCommerce Checkout Button Text
After giving a name to the checkout form, you can add a custom checkout button text in the same tab. In the 'Custom Checkout Button Text' field, enter the text you want to display on the checkout.
It entirely depends on your choice and store type, but for this tutorial, I am changing it to 'Pay Now.'
7. Save Changes
Now click the green "Save" button at the top right corner of your screen to save the settings.
8. Final Results
Now let's test it.
I added a product to my cart and visited the checkout page to test it. As you can see in the screenshot below that the default checkout text has been replaced with the one we just added using the AIO Checkout plugin.
Conclusion
That's it for today's article.
I hope you were able to change the WooCommerce checkout button text easily. Focusing on little things can help you improve your conversion rate and get you more money.
