How to Remove Shipping from WooCommerce Checkout?

Shipping Details are essential in eCommerce, and if you are using WooCommerce, you might be aware that by default, WooCommerce has a long checkout page with billing details and a shipping details section. 

Research has shown that users leave the cart due to bad experiences, which may also include filling out tons of fields to complete the checkout. This affects the user experience. 

You can remove the shipping details section from WooCommerce checkout to improve the customer’s experience so they shop with you for the long term. 

So, In today’s article, I’ll explain the step-by-step process to remove the shipping from WooCommerce checkout without using any code or third-party plugin.

I’ll show you two methods to remove shipping from WooCommerce. So, without any further ado, let’s jump into the tutorial. 

Method 1: Remove Shipping From WooCommerce Checkout Using WooCommerce Shipping Options

The first method to remove the shipping from WooCommerce checkout is using the WooCommerce shipping options. We will be forcing the shipping to the billing address

Please follow the following steps to remove shipping from the checkout using shipping options. 

1. Navigate to WooCommerce’s Settings

Navigate to WooCommerce » Settings from the WordPress dashboard. 

2. Click the Shipping Tab

Once you are in the settings of WooCommerce, click the “Shipping” tab from the top bar. 

3. Click the Shipping Options  

After that, click the “Shipping Options” to enable the force shipping settings. 

 

4. Enable the Force Shipping to the Customer Billing Address

From the “Shipping Destination,” select the “Force Shipping to Customer Billing Address” and then click the “Save Changes” button to save the settings. 

This will remove the shipping section from the default checkout form, and users can complete the checkout without any hustle. 

5. Final Results

Now let’s test it. 

Visit your store’s checkout page, and you’ll notice that the billing and shipping sections are combined into one section, and users won’t have to fill in the address twice.

Method 2: Remove Shipping From WooCommerce Checkout Using General Settings

The second method to remove the shipping from WooCommerce checkout is using the general settings of WooCommerce. 

Please keep in mind that this method will completely remove the shipping options and shipping detail section from your store. This is recommended if you are selling digital products like music, videos, images, ebooks, etc. 

1. Navigate to WooCommerce’s Settings

Navigate to WooCommerce » Settings from the WordPress dashboard. 

2. Disable Shipping & Shipping Calculations

Once you are in the settings of WooCommerce, you can play with different options like shipping, payment, tax rules, etc. 

You need to scroll to the General Options, and from the ‘Shipping Locations’ dropdown, you’ll get four options. 

  • Ship to all countries you sell to.
  • Ship to all countries.
  • Ship to specific countries only.
  • Disable Shipping & Shipping Calculations.

You need to select ‘Disable Shipping & Shipping Calculations’ from the dropdown to remove shipping from WooComemrce checkout. 

Remember, this option will completely disable the shipping options and the shipping. Users won’t see the shipping calculator on the cart and checkout page. 

Only enable it if you sell digital products, as mentioned at the start of this method. 

3. Save Changes

After that, scroll down and click the blue ‘Save Changes’ button at the bottom left corner of your screen to save the settings. 

4. Final Results

Once the settings are saved, visit the cart page of your store, and you’ll notice that there is no shipping calculator or shipping method.

Now, if you visit your store’s checkout page, you’ll notice that the shipping details section has also been removed from it.
